Personality Test

I found the Personality Test that Jeff and I took at our pre-marital counseling meeting, so I thought I'd post it. We had to score it ourselves, and obviously we had lengthy discussions about it with the Pastor. Here's my results, I found them to be very accurate!:

Your personality type:

Quiet, kind and conscientious. Can be depended on to follow through. Usually puts the needs of others above their own needs. Stable and practical, they value security and traditions. Well-developed sense of space and function. Rich inner world of observations about people. Extremely perceptive of other's feelings. Interested in serving others.

Careers that could fit you include:

Interior decorators, designers, nurses, administrators, managers, secretaries, child care/early childhood development, social work, counselors, paralegals, clergy, office managers, shopkeepers, bookkeepers, homemakers, gardeners, clerical supervisors, curators, family practice physicians, health service workers, librarians, medical technologists, typists.

It also gives you scales on various personality qualities, but it won't let me post the scales here. I am a strong introvert, kind of in the middle of sensing and intuitive, a strong feeler (meaning I think of people's feelings when I make a decision), and very strong on judging, which means I love calendars and to-do lists according to our Pastor (which is totally true!)

Let me know if you take it and what your results are!

Economy

I work in a private school in a VERY affluent town. I teach a very famous person's daughter (which make conferencing very awesome), and there have been several celebrity kids at my school through the years. Our salaries are very competitive with the public schools in the area (typically private schools pay a lot less), however, this terrible economy we are all in has finally affected us. We were informed on Friday that we were all getting flatlined for next year, meaning no raises. Our benefits are still covered the same as always, so that's amazing, and I am just so thankful that I will have a job next year! A lot of public schools are having to let a lot of their teachers go. I am so fortunate that I get to stay where I am. I really hope this economic crisis gets better soon. I have a few friends who needs jobs, and the whole situation is just so scary...

Couples Survey!

I feel like I may have done this one before. Oh well...

What are your middle names?
Mine is Ann, and Jeff's is Donald, which is is father's first name.

How long have you been together?
2 years and 2 months.

How long did you know each other before you started dating?
We met in person on our first date. Jeff found me on Match.com before that and we had talked for a few weeks over the phone and on AIM before meeting.

Who asked whom out?
Jeff asked me for coffee. We've been together ever since!

How old are each of you?
I'm 24, Jeff is 26, turning 27 in May

Whose siblings do you see the most?
His. Both of mine are at college

Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple?
Nothing really comes to mind!

Did you go to the same school?
No, and if we did, Jeff would have been a senior when I was a freshman, therefore, it would have been too big of an age gap at that stage in life.

Are you from the same home town?
Nope, we're not from the same state either.

Who is smarter?
I think we're both smart in different ways, but in general, Jeff is smarter.

Who is the most sensitive?
Me. I cry at the drop of a hat!

Where do you eat out most as a couple?

P.F. Chang's is a big favorite!

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
Caribbean

Who has the craziest exes?
I've never met any of Jeff's, but from what I hear, the girl he was with before me was NUTS.

Who has the worst temper?
I think we're both pretty bad, but I might win by a very small margin. I'm calm and patient all day with my students, so by the time I get home, there's nothing left in me!

Who does the cooking?
Me usually, and I'm really loving it! I couldn't cook before we started living together!

Who is the neat-freak?
Me, but I'm not nearly as bad as I could be!

Who is more stubborn?
Me by far

Who hogs the bed?

Me

Who wakes up earlier?
During the week I get up about 2 hours earlier than Jeff! On weekends, I tend to sleep in a bit later.

Where was your first date?

Starbucks

Who is more jealous?
Neither one of us. There's no reason to be, and I'm not typically a jealous person anyway.

How long did it take to get serious?

A few months

Who eats more?

Depends

Who does the laundry?
Me

Who’s better with the computer?

Jeff. His entire job is with computers, so he better be! :p

Who drives when you are together?
Jeff. I hate driving and would prefer to never have to do it! Jeff fears for his life when I drive! Haha!

The Real Housewives of OC Confess- My Thoughts

I'm gonna make bullets during the show so I don't forget anything! Sorry about it being so disorganized!

* Vicki needs to own up to her bitchiness! She said SOOOOOO many mean things and tried (unsuccessfully) to dance around them and make excuses. Just admit you were a bitch, say sorry, and move on! She takes no responsibility for anything that makes her look bad! The proof is on film! How can you argue it? I like that Lynne was able to say, "Yes I said mean stuff too, I can own that." I really dislike Vicki, and I used to find her neurotic, but entertaining and well-meaning. Not anymore. She's one of my least favorites. Also, Vicki needs to shut up. Period and OMG at her smiling when Tamra and Gretchen were fighting!

* I felt bad for Lynne tonight. She does seem like a bit of an airhead/ditz, but there is no reason to show all of the clips of the girls saying it, and there was no reason for Jeana to make her comment at the reunion. I would have cried a lot sooner than she did, then I would have told everyone off. No one really ever gave Lynne a chance, and it's not fair to judge someone before you really know them, and while she does seem kind of boring and blah, she seems like she means well and she seems like a nice person. She just need to reign her bratty daughters in!

* I don't really know what to say about Gretchen. I think she loved Jeff, but who knows whose story (Tamra's or Gretchen's) is true. Tamra definitely has it in her to lie, so it's hard to figure out. I personally don't care if she's dating/sleeping with someone or not.

* Tamra is a bitch just like Vicki. I think a lot of it is insecurity and jealousy. I'm glad she told us what the 1am call was tho, because she mentioned that in one of her blog entries and I was DYING to know what it was! I liked Tamra last season, but now I cannot stand her.

LOL at the shirts at the end of the show! I would never wear it!

I KNOW some of you watched! What did you think?

New Bathing Suits!

I bought a few new swimsuits today to take on my honeymoon. I have a lot of bikinis, but even if I look decent in them, I always feel sooo self conscious and over-exposed and I can't enjoy myself, so I decided to get something with a little more substance! I got a black halter tankini from Old Navy, and this adorable one piece from J.Crew:

I got it in the navy shown above and a bright pink! I can wear it as a halter or strapless. I think it's still attractive and not completely conservative, but it covers up my stomach! They were quite pricey, but I think I will get a lot of use out of them!

Pre-Marital Church Meetings

Jeff and I had our first pre-marital meeting yesterday at Church. I found the whole thing extremely interesting and I really enjoyed it! We have another one in March.

First, the Pastor gave us a personality test, and both our results, particularly mine, were spot on. It was really funny when we went through them and the Pastor talked about how each of us acts based on the test because it all sounded so familiar and was all true! I think it helped us to understand each other even better than we already do! We also talked about family and communication and how key that is to a happy marriage. We were told we're doing very well, and with time, if we practice having "fair fights" and communicating at the right times, we will be very happy! I know it's his job, but I felt way more like I was talking to a therapist than a religious leader because he wasn't preachy! He did such a great job and I really liked the Pastor a lot!

Jeff and I already knew we were good together (hello, we're getting married!), but it was nice to hear the Pastor say that we are very well matched, he can see a lot of good things with us, and he's glad he doesn't have to find a way to tell us marriage is a bad idea haha! Now, Jeff and I just have to do a little bit of homework before our meeting March 20th!

Did anyone else have to do these type of meetings? What did you think of them?

Lots Of Blue!

I ordered my rehearsal dinner dress and my day after the wedding brunch dress! Both are blue and from David's Bridal. It won't let me post pics, so you can see the dresses here (rehearsal dinner in blue) and here (in cornflower blue for brunch.)

Also...

My something blue for the wedding day! Not sure why Blogger won't post it the correct way, but you get the idea! I got these from Mindy Weiss' website! They were inexpensive and very easy to use! So I have new (my dress counts!) and blue, I still need old and borrowed! Any ideas?

On another note, I am soooo going to regret staying up late to watch Real housewives of NYC tonight, but it will totally be worth it! :P

Confessions of a Shopaholic

I saw this today with my friend Jess. It thought it was adorable! They cut out quite a bit from the book, and Rebecca Bloomwood is supposed to be British. I got a little frustrated with everything that goes wrong with Rebecca in the book AND the movie, but I knew what was coming. I enjoyed it and will probably get it when it's out on DVD.

Now I need to see He's Just Not That Into You!

Wedding Programs and More!

We decided to do our wedding programs, place cards, table numbers, and menu cards (if the catering place doesn't do them, I have no idea till I ask them) through David's Bridal. They have pretty stuff at an affordable price, and they will print everything for us! This is HUGE for me! I'd rather spend the extra money and save myself all the time and stress, especially since I have to assemble all the invitations (I am so having a bridesmaids party at my house to get some help with that) and we are printing the envelopes instead of using a calligrapher. Here's what we chose. All images are from David's Bridal.

The programs. I might tie on a ribbon, but I haven't decided yet.

Place cards. Jeff's mom is going to write in the table numbers on the inside of the cards, which fold. She has amazingly beautiful handwriting, and she said she'd be happy to do this for us! I am getting such an amazing MIL!

The menu cards.

The table number cards. I love how everything ties in together, and pink is a HUGE color in my wedding! Champagne, white, and some slight blue accents for Jeff's sake, are the other colors.

I also ordered this part of our wedding favors today! I ordered a few more than the max number of guests we plan on inviting just in case! I ordered the label in latte with the wedding cake on it. The label will say our names and wedding date on it! I can't wait to see how they turn out! I won't order the personalized M&M's (in pink, blue, and possibly a beige color as well) till much closer to the wedding! I want the chocolate to be fresh!

*UPDATED* I got bored, so I ordered the parents' gifts tonight. I love this frame and plan on putting a copy of our invitation in it for the parents and they can obviously put a wedding picture in the other side! It's a Vera Wang frame and I got it from The Knot.
Now I'm off to continue watching The Princess Bride on Bravo! I love this movie so much!

Valentine's Day 2009

Jeff and I went to Morton's Steakhouse for dinner, and it was soooo good! This is our Valentine's Day tradition that Jeff started a couple years ago when we had our first Valentine's Day together! It's definitely more high end than we usually do, but so delicious and I look forward to it every year!

The staff was taking pictures of people and putting them in cute frames! The quality is much better in real life! They also took a pic of us with my camera, but my eyes were closed, so that won't get posted here! :p

The frame.

Close up. The design was drawn on with a gold pen.

This was our delicious molten chocolate lava cake! It takes 45 minutes to prepare, so we had to order it at the beginning of the meal! We had filet and mashed potatoes, which were incredible! I absolutely love this restaurant! The staff is very attentive and nice, and the food is awesome, but a bit pricey. If you have a Morton's near you, you should give it a try!

The wedding program post is coming, I just forgot to do it! Don't forget to comment on my wedding cake choices and give your opinion if you haven't already! :)

What are everyone else's Valentine's Day plans?

Wedding Cakes!

The ONLY thing I do not have pictured exactly in my mind is the cake. There's so many things I like, but it's hard to make a decision and I can't really include every single element that I like into one cake! We have a menu tasting and cake meeting on March 20th, so I need to make some decisions! I would *love* every one's opinion on some of the cakes I like! Keep in mind we have a cake topper that's not flowers. It's Precious Moments figurines wearing Mickey and Minnie Mouse bride and groom ears. All photos are from The Knot.

1. I love the pink ribbons at the bottom of each tier and the dot detail.

2. I would want pink flowers, but I like the bigger dots.

3. Love the pretty pink dot flowers on this one!

4. I wouldn't want flowers as huge as some of these, but I like the splash of color and the simplicity of the cake.

5. I love the dots, flowers, and ribbon detail of this one! This is probably my favorite.

Please, please, please give me your opinions! If you're a lurker and have never commented, now is the time! I would love the help and the more people who comment, the better for me! Thanks in advance! :)

Tomorrow I'm going to show our menu card, place card, and wedding ceremony program designs!

OC Housewives

I didn't like this episode much, kind of boring to me. I'm excited for the finale next week, and the NYC Housewives looks like it will be good this season!

Vicki- The cruise thing looked fun, but she was kind of dumb to think that her son was going to take it seriously on a cruise ship with booze all over the place! He might have been more into it if there wasn't fun stuff to do! He needs to grow up and realize that in order to have money, you have to work hard and earn it! He definitely didn't get his mom's work ethic!

Gretchen- Does she EVER stay home with her dying fiancee? Every episode we've seen lately, she is gone! I don't know what it's like to be someone's caretaker like that, I can imagine needing a break, and who knows what they edit out as far as her time with Jeff, but it seems that she is never with him! I also heard a rumor that she went after Slade (Jo's from earlier seasons, can't remember exactly) ex in order to stay on the show next season! If she did that, it's really disappointing.

Jeana- I liked her black dress and thought she looked pretty for her date! Can't wait to see the guy! The whole road trip with her daughter was kind of boring, and those 2 obviously didn't get along during the trip! Kara seemed a little ungrateful to me.

Lynne- She and her husband are SO naieve! Do they honestly think their 15 year old is holding onto cigarettes for a friend and not smoking them herself? They really need to wake up, realize their kids are not innocent or well behaved and start parenting them! The previews for next week show Lynn trying to crack the whip and Raquel freaking out and telling her to back off! Her kids totally disgust me! WAY too spoiled!

Tamra- I think it's sad that her dad made the choices that he did when she was younger, but ti seems that they are OK now. I didn't really care too much for this story line, so I don't have many comments about it!

Monthly Countdown Gifts

This past Tuesday, Feburary 3rd, my maid of honor dropped by my classroom (we work together) to give me my "5 months till your wedding" gift from all my bridesmaids! They have been super adorable and trying to stick with themes that deal with a holiday or event happening that month. This month brings Valentine's Day, so I got these adorable Lolita Shot Glasses! What's funny is that I saw these at Shannon's house a few weeks ago and went on and on about how adorable they were! She told me they were her roommate's! Little did I know they were really for me! Even funnier is that I got each of the girls a shot glass from the same company as part of their bridesmaid thank you gift!

Aren't they adorable? The feathery bottom is removable for washing purposes, and each shot glass has a special drink recipe on the other side of it! I plan on trying out both drinks sometime!

On a different note, I have been cooking all day! I used my wonderful Kitchenaid Mixer this afternoon to make chocolate chip cookies from scratch! If you don't have one of these mixers, get one! They're amazing and make everything SO much easier! The cookies turned out really well! I also made a really good dinner tonight. Head over to my Recipe Blog to check it out!

Our Wedding Rings

We picked up our wedding rings today and we couldn't be happier! They fit perfectly and are so pretty!

Our rings. Both are platinum and mine has diamonds across the top, which is kind of hard to see in this picture. I was surprised to see both rings in one box! I didn't know they did that (Jeff did and thought I was a dork haha). It makes it a lot easier for the wedding!

What my hand will look like once I'm married haha! I keep putting the wedding ring on, and I really need to stop and put it away till July!

After getting the rings, Jeff and I saw Slumdog Millionaire, which was really good. We liked it better than Frost Nixon and will be rooting for it to win best picture. We also went bedroom and bathroom curtain shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond, but found nothing we really loved, so that search will continue elsewhere. We had a great dinner at Applebee's, ran to the grocery store and bank, then headed home.

We got a letter from our reception site the other day telling us it was time to pay for 1/2 of the bill! We're getting closer to the wedding, and stuff like this makes it really hit home! It's also crazy seeing how much my ticker has moved haha!

I'm off to go use my new Kitchenaid Mixer to make chocolate chip cookies! Yum!

Follow Me!

I finally put the followers thing up on my sidebar, and I have 1 person! I'm going to be following all of you, so can you follow me too?

Pictures of our wedding bands coming later!!!!!!!

Real Housewives and Top Chef

I love Bravo TV! I have several thoughts on the shows this week, mostly on Real Housewives.

I honestly don't think Jeff should have been filmed. That poor man had obviously taken a turn for the worst and it was really sad and uncomfortable to see him like that. It also really bothered me that Gretchen took off to Vegas right after he had gotten home from being in the hospital for 2 months. I've never been in her position, and I hope to God that I never am, and I really don't want to judge, but it seemed odd to me that she took off so fast and I don't think I could ever do that.

Vicki didn't bug me as much this episode, and I like her daughter. She seems to have her head on straight and she definitely got her mom's work ethic. I hope she and her boyfriend are OK. I did find the whole martini thing really stupid. Who cares if Gretchen likes the same drink as you do, Vicki? Does it really matter? I know several people who all enjoy the same drinks and no one gets all offended or upset about it! That was juvenile.

Tamra's mom looked great! Her facelift was definitely not overdone and I hope she finds a nice man soon! She seems like a very sweet woman. Tamra also didn't bug me a whole lot in this episode, probably because she wasn't being as catty and jealous as usual.

I was happy Lynne's daughters weren't on this episode much, especially the older one. She's horrible and spoiled rotten. Lynne's mother was so right when she said Lynne is an enabler and that her daughter should get her car taken away ASAP for all the drinking and stuff. I don't care if it was a birthday gift, she's not responsible enough to have it. If I ever behaved the way her daughter does when I was that age, my parents would have taken my car in a second.

The resort in Vegas looked amazing! I hope to go to Vegas someday, and I wouldn't mind staying at the place they did, but it was so expensive! I think most of these women dress way too youthful. I'm 24 and I wouldn't wear some of the stuff they wear, such as Lynne's white dress.

I think that covers RHOC, I can't wait for the reunion show in a couple weeks, then RHNYC!

I just got into Top Chef this season, and I love it! I'm really not a big fan of Padma, and I have no idea why. She comes off as snobby and a bit too abrupt for me (pack your knives and go!), and I don't know how much of that is for the show, and how much is her actual personality. She's very pretty tho!

I was sad to see Jamie go because I liked her. I knew from what they were saying and how badly she messed up her dish that it would be her, but I was hoping for Leah to go anyway. I don't like her at all, and it's a shame because I did at the beginning. I love Carla, but I don't think she will win. She has a great personality and might be a threat for fan favorite. I also love Fabio, the charming Italian! He's very good looking, I love his accent, and he might have what it takes to win, and I think he will probably be fan favorite. Stephan is arrogant, but he has the talent to back it up. I like him for some reason, and I definitely think he has what it takes to win! He is on fire recently with the exception of the football challenge! I can't wait to see who wins in the end!

Superbowl

Superbowl was spent in pajamas with Jeff, and I wasn't wearing any makeup, so there are no pictures of me!

Here is Peanut posing with my Camp Director football T-shirt from last summer. Don't mind the clothes all over our bed, it was laundry day!

Jeff making our pizzas! He doesn't look too amused at having his picture taken!

My pizza (cheese, and bacon) before it got cooked.

All done! Jeff's was pepperoni, cheese, and bacon. They were delicious! We still have some leftover!

I'm not a HUGE football fan, and if I had to choose a team, it would be the NY Giants, but I really like the Steelers, and I was thrilled that they won! I watched them win the Superbowl when I was a senior in college, so this game brought back some memories for me! I was REALLY disappointed with the commercials this year though! Anyone else?

How did everyone else spend Superbowl Sunday?

Also, head over to my Recipe Blog to see what I made for dinner for Jeff and I tonight!
