Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Halloween weekend! We had a party here on Friday night, and have been laying low the rest of the weekend. I will post pics soon!

We just found out last night that Jeff's great aunt passed away, so we will be heading to LI in the next couple days for the wake and funeral. She survived ovarian cancer a few years ago, but she fell and hit her head too hard yesterday and passed within hours from that. Prayers for her family, especially her sister and daughter, would be much appreciated

Weekend

We had another busy weekend!

On Friday, we went to the movies to see "Life As We Know It." It was adorable, but made me cry several times. We also went to dinner at this adorable 50's themed diner named Lucky's in town. I've never been there before, but it was fun and the food was great! We will definitely go back.

Saturday was Family Fun Day at work, so I had to go work a carnival game for an hour and then hang out. We're supposed to stay from 11-3, but I left around 1:30 and took a 3 hour nap when I got home! At night, we met up with a friend of mine from college and her husband. I haven't seen this friend since college (graduated in 2006) and we had never met each other's husbands. Everyone hit it off right away and we had a blast! I have a feeling we will be getting together a lot more! It's always nice to have another couple to hang out with!

Today is housework, grad work, lesson plans, reports for my students (our way more in-depth version of a report card), and laundry. I have to do even more lesson planning than usual because Monday I have grad class and can't do much lesson planning, and we are going to Game 4 of the ALCS on Tuesday, so I will have no time to plan that day either. I have Friday off as a personal day, so I need to make sub plans for that, AND I have 10 early reports due Thursday! This week is insane, but I've made a nice dent in my work already and will get through it.

Weekend Recap

Sorry I've been MIA! I've been super busy and incredibly tired! Hopefully things calm down soon! :)

We had a nice weekend! On Friday, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings and then to see "The Social Network." My husband dated the creator of Facebook's sister for several years, so he knows Mark, the FB creator, well. It was interesting to get his take on the movie. He said it was more realistic than he expected, but that Mark is not that big of a jerk in real life. We both enjoyed the movie a lot.

On Saturday, we went to a surprise party for my good friend Shannon. Her parents contacted me weeks ago to help them invite all the EHS people, so I did that for them, and the party was great! Shannon was surprised and we had a wonderful time! Then, one of my brothers was home for the weekend from college, so we went to dinner with him. It was nice to see him and catch up!

Today, I did a lot of lesson planning and grad work, then Jeff and I went to the Cheesecake Factory with my MIL and SIL. They drove about 1.5 hours to have dinner with us, and it was their idea! It was great to see them and catch up because we haven't in awhile and probably won't again till Thanksgiving.

I have off from work tomorrow, and it's a good thing because I have a nasty cold! I'm happy I can rest another day, but I do have grad class tomorrow night, which sucks, but I can deal. I plan on cleaning the house, doing laundry, and watching TV all day until I have to go to class.
