We had a nice, but very busy Christmas! I didn't take too many pictures because Jeff got a video camera for Christmas and we recorded a lot more than we took pictures of :)
Christmas Eve was spend at my MIL's house on LI. We got there around 4:00 and went to Jeff's aunt and uncle's house for 5:00. It's always a lot of fun and great to see everyone. They always serve delicious food and drinks too! We dressed Landon up as Santa and he was a huge hit! Landon got to see his friend Wyatt who is 8 days older than him, but she looks months younger because she's so tiny and Landon is a big boy. We brought Landon back to my MIL's around 9:00 (he napped on me for about 40 minutes at the party) and tried to get Landon to sleep so we could open most of the presents since we have to leave kind of early Christmas Morning. Landon basically refused to sleep, so he opened lots of gifts with us. He slept like complete crap when we all finally did go to bed. He was up every 1-2 hours like he was a newborn again. To say I was exhausted was an understatement. I think Landon is like his mommy and doesn't sleep well away from home. It was bad and we won't be sleeping over my MIL's house again anytime soon, it's just too hard.
Christmas morning my MIL made her delicious French toast casserole and we opened the rest of Landon's gifts. He got spoiled, but both of our families were respectful of the fact that we are short on space and need to move, so they really only got the toys and books I put on Landon's Amazon wishlist. We left LI around 11:30, thinking Landon would nap the 1.5 hour drive home. He napped 40 minutes and then was up and ready to party. We unloaded the car, then headed out to my parents' house. Landon was dressed in his "Baby's first Christmas" outfit and was once again a huge hit. My Aunt, Uncle, and cousin were over and they hadn't seen Landon since he was 4 weeks old, so they were amazed at how different he looks and how big he has gotten! Landon was exhausted and I tried several times to get him to nap, and he did for about 40 minutes. We left relatively early because he was so overtired and started to fuss. Considering how little sleep he got, I'd say he was still pretty happy and handled all the running around and people very well. I was thankful we opened gifts with my family 2 days earlier on my birthday because we wouldn't have had time between everything else and having to leave early due to a tired baby.
Next year, we might go to Jeff's Aunt and Uncle's house, but drive home that night and let Landon sleep in the car. I want him to wake up at his own house on Christmas from now on and the drive isn't so long that we can't make it work. If we're in a bigger house we will host Christmas, if not, we will go to my parents' house again. We still have 1 more Christmas to celebrate at the end of January with Jeff's dad and stepmom!
I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas!
