What's In Our Diaper Bag?

I love when people do posts like this, so I thought I'd share what I carry around in the diaper bag for my 1 year old and I.

This is our diaper bag. It's made by Skip Hop and I love it. It has a ton of pockets and a lot of space for everything we need. I keep a sippy cup for Landon in one of those side pockets, and my phone, lip balm, and a bunch of other stuff in the other side pocket.

I use the diaper bag as my purse as well unless I am going somewhere without Landon. It makes no sense to carry a separate bag for myself. I only have 2 hands and too much stuff to carry as it is! In the diaper bag for me I have a snack, my iphone, a pen, keys, lipgloss, lip balm (not pictured), hand lotion (not pictured) my wallet, a travel hairbrush, and my prescription sunglasses.

Everything else in the bag is for Landon. I carry boogie wipes, which are amazing when he has a cold or runny nose, the Packin Smart 3-tiered snack container, another goldfish snack container, diapers (duh), a few random toys, a wet/dry bag (that's the purple and white thing. I have a blue and white one too) which are great for storing clothes, bibs, etc that Landon may get dirty, and in the ziploc bag is a bib, veggie pouch, and a spoon. I always make sure to have a lot of food with us. I also carry an old plastic shopping bag to put dirty diapers in just in case I'm not near a trash can.

I also carry disposable placemats, a thermometer for when we're sleeping away from home, baby wipes which I use for everything imaginable, and a change of clothes for Landon. I tend to put something I don't really care for in the diaper bag. Right now there's just a onesie in there (I never really put L in onesies anymore), but when it's cold out I obviously put long sleeves, pants, and a change of socks in there. I haven't really had to use the change of clothes as much now that Landon is older, but when he was a few months old they were a lifesaver several times. It's just a good thing to have.

If I'm just going to the grocery store I don't bother with extra toys, but if we're going out to dinner, or I know we'll be gone a long time, I bring more things for Landon to play with. These are just a few of his favorites.

Finally, sippy cups! I always carry one full of water when we go anywhere. Landon tends to get thirsty a lot and it's nice to always give him access to water. Now that he's drinking cow's milk, I carry another sippy full of that if we're going to be gone a long time.

I also have my checkbook and a bunch of coupons in one of the pockets as well as a hand sanitizer clipped to the side of the bag. It's a lot of stuff, but it is what it is. A lot of the time I don't even need all of this stuff when we're out, but I'd much rather have it and not need it than wish I had it and kick myself for not packing it.
