Weekend Recap

We had a really great weekend! I actually spent quite a bit of time away from L, but it was a much needed break for this mommy!

On Friday morning, L and I went to Starbucks (grande, iced, decaf, skinny mocha) where he proceeded to wave at all of the ladies in line ahead of us. One of the women told me he was a huge flirt and I was going to be in trouble when he's older. I agree.
Landon and I both had our "sippy cups" for running errands.

Later that afternoon, my mom came to watch Landon so I could go to a last minute engagement party for one of my best friends. She just got engaged about 2 weeks ago in Paris to an amazing guy, and a mutual friend threw her a little party with all of our teacher friends. I could have brought Landon with me, but I wanted to relax and chat with all of my friends, which is impossible with a wild toddler, so my mom helped me out. I had a blast and it was great to be with adults and talk about something other than babies or stuff related to them for a few hours. I loved my outfit, especially my necklace, which I ordered from Bridier Baubles. I loved it so much that I ordered it in coral and then ordered different necklace in white. I'm trying to accessorize more because I dress pretty boring and need to jazz it up a bit. I accidentally deleted the pic off of my phone, so you get a screenshot off of Instagram instead.
Friday night I watched the women's gymnastics Olympic Trials. I am so excited for the Olympics in a few weeks! I love all of it, but my favorite summer sports are gymnastics and swimming.

On Saturday afternoon we ran a few errands. Jeff got a bunch of work clothes at Kohl's, and we both got stuff at Old Navy. Landon was pretty cranky which is so not like him and made for a bit of a rough afternoon. Later that evening, my parents came over to watch him so we could go to Capital Grille to celebrate our 3rd anniversary a few days early. Our anniversary falls on a Tuesday this year, and Jeff has to work, so we decided to do dinner early, but no gifts until our actual anniversary. This was the first time someone other than Jeff or I were bathing Landon and putting him to sleep. We have an evening wedding to go to in a few weeks, so we really wanted to see how Landon did with all of this. Everything went well except actually putting Landon down to sleep. He's had red cheeks, which is a classic teething symptom for him, and then he refused to go to sleep even after we got home. Another classic teething sign. I couldn't get him down until 10:00pm, and then he was up screaming at 4:30am and we brought him into bed to give him Advil and watch Disney Junior until 5:00ish. He was up maybe 30 minutes later than usual, much to our dismay. Hopefully he will be done with the teething (I think it's molars) and will go down for my mom easily the night of the wedding. Regardless, it was nice to have a date with my husband and enjoy some time alone!
Date night outfit. I really didn't take any pics this weekend other than my outfits haha!
Because it was our anniversary, Capital Grille decorated our table with heart confetti, we got a card, and complimentary champagne. Our server also took our picture at dessert time. Sorry for the crappy picture of a picture, but you get the idea. Everything was delicious as usual, and we were stuffed when we left.

We were supposed to have swim lessons with Landon this morning, but he had the runs last night due to teething and the last thing we wanted to do was risk putting him in a pool. Swim diapers are supposed to hold in poop, but better safe than sorry. He's actually been fine and we could have gone, but it's OK. Instead, Jeff thought it would be a good idea to go to IHOP for breakfast. We got there and it was ridiculously crowded, so we went to a diner instead. We were actually kind of disappointed in the lack of variety on their breakfast menu and the food was just OK. It was a really expensive breakfast for a diner and not worth it. We probably won't go there again, but it was nice to go out regardless. We hit up the dirve-thru Starbucks afterwards and then came home. Since Landon didn't get much sleep last night, he went down for a nap an hour earlier than usual and is going on 2 hours now.
This is one of my new shirts from out Old Navy trip yesterday. I am really obsessed with stripes this year. I am really loving my white shorts and wish I got a pair years ago. This is the first year I feel thin enough to wear white bottoms. Funny how it took having a baby and then getting into running a bit to make that happen haha! Don't mind Landon. He wouldn't let me put him down to take the picture, so he got to be in it.

Once Landon wakes up, we're going to make a 2 minute walk to the hardware store to get new filters for our AC. It's been kind of hot upstairs and Jeff thinks this will help. Otherwise, we're just hanging out in the nice, cool house today. It's been SO hot out the past few days and I am over it.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
